CO₂ compensation

Below, you will find specific information about entering data on compensation. In finetuning you can select which items are shown in your Envirometer.

• Compensation means that you compensate for part of your environmental burden (greenhouse effect) by either paying for CO₂ reduction elsewhere or by planting forests.
• Compensation is expressed in hectare forest, metric ton CO₂ or CO₂ credits. * In the Envirometer, 1 hectare of forest equals 8 metric tons CO₂. A CO₂ credit equals a metric ton of CO₂.
• On the compensation tab you can enter for each Envirometer how much compensation you have purchased.
