In the Netherlands, hundreds of companies and organisations are using the Envirometer. They see it as an efficient and useful tool. Thanks to the insights provided by the Envirometer, many companies and organisations have been able to take effective cost saving measures and save the environment at the same time.

How can you benefit from the Envirometer?

The Envirometer provides a quick and simple overview of your company or organisation’s environmental costs and performance. In an instant, the chart generated provides a clear picture of the environmental themes featuring most prominently in your overall environmental performance – power consumption or business travel, for example. The Envirometer’s built-in CO2 meter allows you to visualise the CO2 emissions of your operations and factor them into your decision-making.

Another chart shows the accompanying environmental costs. Your score on a series of efficiency indicators is shown in a separate table. With all this information available in a clear and unambiguous format, it is an easy matter to reduce your environmental costs and improve your organisation’s performance. The Envirometer also facilitates communications on environmental issues both within your own organisation and with others.

Various branches of industry are using the Envirometer as a benchmarking instrument. This enables you to compare your environmental costs and performance with those of competitors or similar organisations in an easy and anonymous manner.

How to use?

1    Prepare
Collect information and data from the previous year regarding: energy, water, waste water, emissions, commercial waste, hazardous waste and transport.
 
2    Fill in
It is surprisingly easy to enter your data in the Envirometer. The Envirometer can be customised to your own company or organisation, thus recording only data of relevance to your particular operations. It will take first-time users 2 to 4 hours to fill in. Yearly updates will take you about an hour.

3    Analyse
The charts and efficiency indicator table will allow you to determine your company or organisation’s environmental priorities. In a growing number of sectors, you can compare your results with those of others using the benchmarking features.

4    Implement
Now you can start focusing on reducing your organisation’s environmental costs and improving its environmental performance of. Tips and tricks are available on the Envirometer website. Next year’s results will definitely show improvements.
